The CHI Brass JR Helleberg mouthpiece is based on a custom mouthpiece made for a Jacobs student in the early 1990s.  This is essentially a reimagining of an original 1930s Helleberg that Arnold Jacobs owned intended for Eb tubas.  The rim and upper cup are identical to the original with the lower cup not as deep, a smaller throat and backbore than the original.  This is a great option when you want a lighter but still typical Helleberg sound on large horns, are playing in a solo or chamber music setting, or using ¾ contrabass or Eb and F tubas.
